Sailing 1-15-06

Another beautiful day on the bay, winds light, but fairly steady.

A working cockpit, well that line tied to the tiller, and the GPS helps keep the workload down.

The Sierra Point Marina sitting under Mount San Bruno and next to the Sierra Point office park.

You can see from our minimal heel that winds are light, but enough to produce some wake. We averaged about 3.8 knots for the day.

A bit more detail, the office park has a Raddison Hotel and a number of office buildings, and room to grow.

Sailing 1-7-06

Mother Nature provides an interesting light show for this sail.

Highlights of Burlingame, under Mount San Bruno.

Sailing through a storm.

Rays of sunshine and rays of rain.

Dramatic San Francisco.

San Francisco, the Bay Bridge and Angel Island.

Get that shot, Cap'n Mike.

Dramatic City of Oakland.

Kathleen closes in on Alemeda Island and the Port of Oakland represented by the Giant Cranes. They look like the Martians in the original War of the Worlds.

A nice light falls on some semi-mothballed Navy ships on Alemeda.

A hint of a rainbow takes aim at the Navy.
